Happy Friday! I hope you all are able to stay dry this week, I know our class is hoping for some sunshine next week so we can finally get out and enjoy recess! In spite of being cooped up all week, we had a fantastic week. It's hard to believe that we are almost at the end of February. Today is the half-way point for our 3rd quarter, grades are available for viewing. Please encourage your student to study and read nightly, this will greatly increase your student's opportunity to succeed. If you feel your student needs help in any subject area, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I can work with your student before or after school if he/she needs additional assistance. Weekly Update for February 18th-22nd, 2019
Dear Parents and Families,
Our class had a wonderful time today exchanging valentines! It was tremendous to see how much the students loved spreading joy and love with each valentine they passed out. Our room was buzzing with giggles and laughter. Looking ahead to next week, I wanted to remind everyone that Friday, Feb. 15th is a half day dismissal at 11:30 and Monday is a school holiday in observance of President's Day. I will see everyone back on Tuesday. I hope you all enjoy the extended weekend and I look forward to another great week at LCEU!

Dear Parents and Families,
Love will soon be in the air in room C115! Next week our class will exchange valentines however we are not planning on having a party. Most students prefer to send in class valentines just addressed to a friend, but I will send home a valentine list with students names. Please just be mindful, that our class has 20 students and every student needs to receive a valentine. I will have red lunch bags for students to place their valentines in but they are welcome to bring a bag or box from home. Weekly Update for Feb. 4th-8th, 2019
Dear Parents and Families,
It's been a great week, and I am thankful for Honor Roll Recognition to celebrate academic success in the classroom. Third quarter has begun and I spoke at length with the students on the importance of studying material nightly for both social studies and science as well as the importance of being focused and attentive during all lessons at school. I am ready and eager to support each student in my class so that they all finish the 3rd quarter strong! Looking ahead to next week, Friday will be our annual Books and Biscuits. This is held upstairs in our blue wing and is our kick-off for the Spring Book Fair. Please be sure to RSVP and stop in next Friday, the 8th. I hope you all have a great rest of your week and I am looking forward to another great week at LCEU next week!

Weekly Update Jan. 21st-25th, 2019
Dear Parents and Families,
This upcoming Friday brings a close to the 2nd nine weeks, and report cards will be issued Friday, January 25th. I cannot believe we are approaching our 3rd nine weeks, but I am thrilled at the progress your student is making. Looking ahead to next week, we will end of unit on Colonization with a test on Wednesday. We ended our rocks and minerals unit in Science and today I sent home information regarding the rock project I assigned that is due next Friday, January 25th. This is a test grade and there is a written component to the project that I am sending home both in paper and electronically through email. This project is an enjoyable learning experience for the students and I am always amazed at the creativity I see! Just a reminder that Monday is a school holiday in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King. I also wanted to inform you all that Wednesday and Thursday of next week I will be out of the classroom. I will be at a professional development training with our district will be back on Friday. Have a great weekend and I look forward to another great week here at LCEU!

I had them prepared today to send home and completely forgot to give them to the students. I apologize! Looking ahead to next week, We will test Module 3 in math on Monday. Students have a study guide in their binders to practice over the weekend. We will also end our rocks and minerals unit in science on Tuesday with an assessment and then begin to wrap up our social studies unit on Colonization. Please don't forget that Friday, Jan. 18th is a half day dismissal and Monday, Jan. 21st is a school holiday in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King.
