Dear Parents and Families,
Happy Friday! I hope you all have had a wonderful week! This week I have enjoyed meeting with the students as well as having our mini lessons for math. I am missing being in the classroom tremendously, so the mini lessons, though small, are helping to fill the void. Next week, we will wrap up fractions and start a new unit in science on magnets. Our science lab teacher, Mrs. Kenga, has graciously recorded videos to help the students have a better grasp of the concepts being introduced. That is all the announcements I have for this week. I will update content and curriculum on the blog so everyone knows what's coming up for the week.
Sincerely
Mrs. Dina Knight

Weekly Update for May 4th-8th, 2020
Dear Parents and Families,
Happy May 4th, and may the force be with you all as you enter another week of being rock star homeschooling parents. I do have a few announcements for the upcoming week. I will still be doing Google Meets with the kiddos on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. A portion of this time will be spent on me doing a mini lesson with the kiddos for math or science. These lessons will be short but for the first time since distance learning began, our grade level and district will be introducing new content and material. I do have instructional videos embedded into the content as well and these will help, along with my mini lessons. On the days that I do not meet with the students, I am more than happy to meet with individual students to help support any struggles they may have with new content. Just let me know and I will set up a Google Meet to meet one on one with your student. For the math this week, there will be no Math 4 Today assignments, only the assistments ones. With introducing new content, I removed those assignments so that the students and parents would not be overwhelmed. I also removed word work for this week, only having the students focus on writing and on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I do truly want to make this as stress free as possible. I hope you all are healthy and well, and thank you so much for all your patience and grace as we enter these uncharted waters together. You all are truly the best and I consider myself to be quite blessed to have you all in my life. Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Dina Knight
