Dear Parents and Families,
What a week! Our week started with an amazing field trip to Camp Discovery in Blythewood South Carolina and will end with the Boosterthon Fun Run! The students and I did manage to to still get a tremendous amount of learning in as well so that makes this week a win-win! Looking ahead to next week, report cards for the 1st quarter will go home on Friday, Nov. 1st. which is also a half day dismissal for LCEU. We will dismiss that day at 11:40. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to another great week at the Lake!
Sincerely
Mrs. Dina Knight

Dear Parents and Families,
It's Thursday, a day earlier than I normally post for our blog but school is out on Friday. I will be in professional development but I hope you all enjoy the extra day you get with your student. The students and I are so excited because this upcoming Monday, October 21st is our 1st field trip. We are headed to Camp Discovery right up the road in Blythewood, SC. We will be loading the bus at 9:15 to arrive at 9:30 and will be returning around 1:00. We will be having lunch at the field trip. If you are planning on packing a lunch for your student, please pack the lunch in a disposable grocery bag with your child's name labeled on the outside of the bag. I will be taking a cooler, so any items that need to be cooled will be in the cooler. I will be taking a snack and water for the students as well. Please send your student in tennis shoes and with a jacket, the field study includes exploring animals and plants in their natural habitat so students will need comfortable shoes and something to keep warm. IF you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask!
Sincerely

Weekly Update for October 14th-18th, 2019
Dear Parents and Families,
Happy Friday! The students and I had a wonderful week in room C115, and I hope you all did as well. Looking ahead to next week, I wanted to remind everyone that Friday, October 18th is a student holiday and the 17th is a regular school day. The following Monday, the 21st is our first class field trip to Camp Discovery in Blythewood, South Carolina. The cost is $23 and can be paid online in parent portal or you can send in a check as well. We will be leaving the school around 9:15 and will return around 1:00. If you chose on the permission form for your child to bring their lunch from home, please send it in a plastic grocery bag that can be disposed of. I will have more details for you next week. If you are interested in being a chaperone please email me and I will add all of the names I receive and then draw names to see who is chosen. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy this beautiful weather!

Dear Parents and Families,
Happy Friday! The communication folders are coming home today and they are full. Grades from all the assignments this week are coming home along with the parent conference form that had the fall MAP data. I conferenced with students individually this week and we set goals and selected strategies to use at home and school to reach those goals. Their goal sheets are in their binder, ask them to show you! Also coming home is a MAP graph of your students progress from Spring of last year to Fall of this year. And last but not least, I sent home a sheet that looks like the above image. These are online resources that we use in the classroom that can be used at home as well. I filled in your students usernames and passwords to help! Have a great weekend and I look forward to another great week at LCEU!
