Dear Parents and Families,
We wrapped up our week and celebrated the cooler weather with a special fall snack that both the students and I thoroughly enjoyed! The class worked so hard with our weekly studies and also with region presentations that the treat was much deserved. Looking ahead to next week LCEU will begin our Boosterthon fundraiser with a pep rally on Monday, October 3rd. The Boosterthon Fun Run will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12th, so parents if you would like to attend please mark your calendars. That is all I have for now, parents please enjoy your weekend and I look forward to another great week here at Lake Carolina Elementary Upper Campus.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Knight

The project must include your students name, date and title of presentation. Happy Friday! We had a great week in the classroom and we are making excellent progress. We took the reading section of the MAP assessment, and we will take the math section next Tuesday. I will communicate those scores to you during our conference day on Thursday, September 22nd. Look soon for the volunteer spot email to register for a time. Today the communication folders went home and in them you will find a form from our homeroom mom. If you would like to be a part of the group parent email, please complete the form and return it in the communication folder. Picture day information is in the folder as well, with our Fall picture day being held on Friday, Sept. 23rd. Lastly I want to remind everyone of the upcoming All About Me Day which will be held on Thursday, September 22nd, on our first half day dismissal. The form discussing the day went home last week in the communication folders. If you need an extra form, just let me know. We are excited about the opportunity students will have to showcase themselves in a hopes to build community and get to know each other better. That is all I have for this week, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to another great week here at Lake Carolina Elementary Upper Campus.

Weekly Update for September 5th-9th, 2016
Monday, September 5th is a school holiday in Observance of Labor Day! |
I hope you all are enjoying this long holiday weekend and cooler South Carolina temperatures. We had a great week in the classroom with highlights that include a lesson from our Guidance Counselor Mrs. Skinner along with the assignment of the much awaited Chrome Books! Looking ahead to the next week, we will take our MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) assessment in Reading on Thursday, September 8th. The math portion of the MAP will be administered the following week on Tuesday, September 13th. Both portions of the assessment will provide valuable information such as your student's reading lexile score while also establishing a baseline to measure progress in both reading and math. That is all the information that I have for this week and I am looking forward to another great week here at Lake Carolina Elementary Lower Campus.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Knight
