Weekly Update for May 31st-June 4th, 2021

Dear Parents and Families,

Happy Friday!  I hope you all had a wonderful week!  Next week is a busy week for us, beginning on Monday, May 31st we are out of school for the observance of Memorial Day.  Students will return to school on Tuesday, June 1st for our field day which we call Gator Games. Students will need to apply sunscreen before school and make certain they wear tennis shoes so they can have safe footwear for our fun and games. Students will get wet so I encourage each student to bring an extra change of clothes in a grocery bag with their name on it so they can change after and be comfortable for the rest of the day. I also encourage students to bring a water bottle with their name on it and a towel to dry off with!

Don't forget, our Gator Games theme is the Olympics and our country that we are representing is Norway. If students would like to make a shirt at home to represent our country, that would be great!

Friday, our school will be having our 5th grade promotion drive through parade. Our class will make posters next week and cheer on our 5th graders as they leave LCEU and embark on their new adventures of middle school.  As I stated earlier, Busy week!  Have a great weekend!

Sincerely

Mrs. Dina Knight

Weekly Update for May 24th-28th, 2021

 Dear Parents and Families,

Happy Friday!  We successfully finished SC Ready this week and I don't know whose happier, me or the students 😄 I am so proud of how they tackeled each day with grit and worked so very hard.  With that behind us, we only have 14 more days of school.   I am already trying to prepare myself for the goodbyes that will be coming in a few short days. I am going to miss these kiddos so much, they bring me so much joy and hope.

Looking ahead Monday, May 31st will be a school holiday in obervence of Memorial Day.  That following Tuesday, June the 1st will be our annual Gator Games, aka Field Day.  We are having an Olympic theme and our country to represent is Norway. I am including a picture of their flag, so that if students want to, they can make shirts at home that look like that country's flag. This is optional, but we thought it would be fun.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely
Mrs. Dina Knight

Parents I could really use your help next week in making sure that your student gets a good night's sleep and has a good breakfast.  Testing will begin at 8:30.  The students have worked so very hard, I know they will do just fine with testing.

Only 21 more days of school, and this year will be completed. It's hard to believe this school has come and gone. I have thoroughly enjoyed with your student(s). If you should ever need anything in the future, I am always here to help.  Just because they leave my room doesn't mean my willingness to help, stops.  I am always available!  Have a great weekend and I look forward to another great week at LCEU!

Weekly Update for April 26th-30th, 2021

 Dear Parents and Families,

Happy Friday!  We finished up MAP testing this week, and I will be sending a report home soon that shows your student's score and growth from the Fall. I am proud of how hard the students have worked this year and I ensured each and every one of them that in no way could their success be measured in one single test score. I plan on bringing them a special treat on Monday to show them just how proud I am of their perserverance and hard work.

April is month of the military child and I wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to all my military families and their students.  You all sacrifice so much for the good of our country and you have my upmost respect and gratitude. Thank you all for all that you do for our community and country!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to another great week at LCEU!
